Olive, the chef and graduate of HRM gave sister Grace and I this Pizza Dough Recipe. On a scheduled date and on her free time she showed us how to make pizza dough.
Last Friday, sister Grace and I tried this Pizza Dough Recipe on our own. It turned out a success after discovering the benefit of microwave oven when rising dough. : ) We made meatless pizza on Good Friday.
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water
2 tbsp sugar
1 1/2 cup All Purpose Flour
1 tsp salt
1. Reserve more flour for dusting.
2. Proof yeast in warm water with sugar until bubbles form for 5 minutes.
3. In a mixing bowl, mix flour and salt then add oil and mix again.
4. Add next yeast mixture and blend well. Knead.
5. Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turn to coat, then cover with cloth.
6. Let it rise in warm place. (Note: I put the dough inside the microwave right after it's used for heating food. And let the dough rise for 30 minutes. This method works well here in cold Baguio)
7. Take out dough, punch it down and shape into two balls.
8. Let it rise, covered for 30 minutes.
9. Preheat oven to 475 degrees.
10. Roll out dough in a baking sheet.
11. Brush with oil.
12. Add grated cheese.
13. Place tomato sauce just enough to cover the dough.
14. Season with salt.
15. Add additional toppings if desired.
16. Top with more cheese and drizzle oil before baking.
Enjoy!
