Nothing beats the summer heat best but a cheap homemade and healthy cold drink: Minted Lemongrass Tea. I found this recipe in Foodie cookbook magazine of vol. 2 no. 1 issue. Try it too at home.
3 cups water
2 stalks lemongrass, white part pounded (I cut the lemongrass into small pieces)
1/2 cup minted leaves
1/2 cup sugar
juice of 1 lime or lemon
In a pot, bring water and lemongrass to a boil.
Lower heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
Turn off fire and add mint leaves.
Steep for 10 minutes then drain.
Add sugar and lime juice.
Stir to dissolve sugar.
Cool completely.
Fill glasses with ice and pour infused liquid.
Garnish with mint leaves.
serves 3
preparation time: 25 minutes
cooking time: 25 minutes
