Homemade Fish Balls With Sweet And Sour Sauce

There are left broiled milk fish from last night's dinner. One way to make fish leftovers more appealing and tasty is by preparing them into Homemade Fish Balls With Sweet and Sour Sauce.
for the Homemade Fish Balls
Ingredients:
  • 1 whole milk fish meat shredded
  • 3 medium shallots, minced
  • 1 medium green pepper, diced
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1/2 flour
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/2 c canola oil

-Put all ingredients in a bowl except canola oil
-Mix well.
-Shape mixture into ball.
-Heat canola oil and fry fish balls.
-Set Aside.

for the Sweet and Sour Sauce, adapted from Cooks.com
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 c broth/water
  • 1/4 c cider vinegar
  • 1/4 c  shredded carrot (I replaced the carrot with red pepper julienned)
  • 1 small white onion sliced ( I added onion to the original recipe)
  • 2 tbsp tomato catsup
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

-Combine sugar, cornstarch, and black pepper in a small saucepan.
-Gradually stir in chicken broth or water.
-Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
-Allow the mixture to thicken slightly.
-Serve with Crab Balls, Fish Balls or other seafood dishes.
