Black Sambo

Black Sambo is one of the recipes I first tasted and learned to prepare abroad. Very easy to do. I made some revision in the recipe by adding coffee in the brown layer. I also used ingredients that were only available in the kitchen.
Black Sambo by: Eileen's Cookery

Ingredients:

  • 2 packs (24g) unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1  pack All Purpose Cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla 
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 can sweetened condensed creamer
  • 1/2 brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp coffee
  • 1/2 c Milo
  • 7 cups boiling water


Procedure:
First Layer
- Pour 1 pack gelatin powder in a mixing bowl and 3/4 cup sugar, mix well
-Add All Purpose Cream

-Add 1 tsp vanilla and mix

-Add 3 1/2 cups boiling water
-Pour in large mold and refrigerate

Second Layer
-On the Same mixing bowl, put 1/2 cup brown sugar

- Add gelatin powder

 Add also 1/4 tsp coffee

-Add 1/2 c Milo, then mix all dry ingredients

-Follow adding sweetened condensed creamer
- Mix well
- Add 31/2 cups boiling water
- Stir well until sugar granules are dissolved

-Pour on the same mold and refrigerate
