Choco Flakes and Choco Mallows

Panagbenga Festival and Summer Season are fast approaching. I love to share with you my Choco Flakes and Choco Mallows recipe to those who plan to earn extra cash. Choco Flakes and Choco Mallows are 'Hit' as homecoming treats to visitors. Easy to prepare. Give it a try too at home. My kids love them for snack. : )

Ingredients:

  • 150g corn flakes
  • 400g white and brown chocolate block
  • 130g marshmallow
  • 4 tablespoons canola oil

Procedure:

 Insert toothpick sticks in marshmallows.

Bring some water to boil in a deep pan.
I used our pressure cooker because its mouth fits perfectly with my mixing bowl where I plan to melt the chocolates.

While waiting for the water to boil, chop the white and brown chocolates.

Layout wax paper on the working table and arrange the molds for corn flakes.

Bring in the boiling water on the working table.
I put the pressure cooker rubber gasket on the rim to help prevent fast release of heat while working on the chocolates.

Put on top the mixing bowl with 200g chopped white chocolate.
It's best to work on the white chocolate first followed by the brown chocolate in order to use only one mixing bowl for the whole process. ; )

Add 2 tbsp canola oil to dilute the chocolate and mix well with fork.

Make sure the chocolate is fully melted.

Dip the marshmallow.

Coat it totally.

Drop it on a prepared tray.
Make sure to line tray with wax paper.

Remove the toothpick before the chocolate hardens.
Do with the rest of the marshmallow.
Set Aside.

After coating all marshmallows, put 100g of corn flakes on the chocolate.

Mix well until all flakes are covered with chocolate.

Spoon some flakes and arrange in the mold.

Leave some flakes outside the mold.
Set Aside.

After spooning all flakes from the mixing bowl, add the 200g chopped brown chocolate.

Add also 2 tbsp of canola oil, mix well until brown chocolate has fully melted.

Do the same process, dip and coat marshmallows.

Remove the toothpick before the chocolate hardens.

Coat the rest of marshmallows with chocolate.
Set Aside.

Follow the corn flakes with the remaining chocolate.

Mix well until all flakes are coated.

Spoon the flakes in the mold.
Set Aside.

Leave some flakes outside the mold.
Set Aside.

Once the chocolate hardens, arrange the white and brown choco coated mallows in a transparent container.

Remove the flake molds.

Arrange also the flakes alternately in a transparent container and cover.

Put your label on the container if you plan to sell them.
If not, put mallows and flakes in an air tight container and refrigerate.
