Rice Crispies With Chocolate

My brother's family came over for Christmas. One of the snacks I made on their visit is the Rice Crispies With Chocolate. The children loved it and didn't stop until the last bite. My brother even asked if I sell them. Here's the Rice Crispies Recipe which I learned from a friend two years ago. It is such a best seller with my family, relatives and friends that you might like to try it too at home.

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups rice crispies
  • 250g chocolate
  • 150g marshmallow
  • 200g toasted peanut chopped
  • 1/4cup butter
  • pinch of salt

Preparation:

  1.  Toast 250g skinless peanut

2. Put the peanuts in the food processor for grinding

3.Or manually pound it with mortar and pestel

4. Set aside

5. Weigh 150 grams marshmallow. Set aside.

6. Melt 1/4 cup butter in a large teflon pan over slow fire

 7. Before adding 150g marshmallows cut them into small pieces to easily melt

8. Put the salt

 9. Add 250g chocolates. For others they melt the butter, marshmallow and chocolate at the same time. But I prefer to melt them one at a time, last the chocolates that easily melts to avoid overcooking. Note: One can also use white chocolate for variation.

10. Quickly put the peanut butter and mix well with mixture

11. Pour six cups rice crispies and quickly incorporate it with the mixture.

13. Make sure that the mixture is evenly incorporated in the rice crispies

 14. Quickly pour the rice crispies on a tray

15. Evenly distribute the rice crispies on all surfaces of tray and press down with the help of wooden   spoon.
16. Set aside to cool.
17. Slice rice crispies into squares
18. Store in an air tight container and refrigerate. Lasts for 1-2 weeks

Enjoy!
